Happy Noose from Olympia in the USA is an alternative rock band who use the divergence of ages between the band members 20’3, 30′s and 40′s to great effect, with influences from across the three decades being delivered by Timothy (Guitar), Ryan (Bass) and  John (Drums).

Happy Noose

There is a great relationship between the member of Happy Noose that gives this music an interesting direction. This is a band who can and does easily merge music across decades to create a distinctive sound which contains pointers to the references, but stands superbly as a testament to the second decade of the 21st Century.

The vocal delivery and sound structure reminds me of  The Pocket Gods and to me, that can only come as a pleasure. I was sent an introduction way back in early September 2011, but have only just had the opportunity to write the review. The laconicism of the music (to mix descriptors) creates an atmospheric which melts in to my ears like butter on toast which combined by the paced delivery of vocal raises this to a must have on my play-list.

There is a confidence in the musicians which adds credibility to the material as they are on top of what they are seeking to deliver. Oh and when that slapped bass is given room to breathe, well… nothing more can I say.
